On the occasion of Lunar New Year (Tet) 2021, the cultural agencies of Khanh Hoa Province have planned to hold many cultural and music activities to welcome the spring. The agencies have incorporated some new features into their activities, hoping to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the local people and tourists in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province during Tet days.

The agencies have incorporated some new features into their activities, hoping to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the local people and tourists in Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province during Tet days.
Nearly 30 cultural activities
The provincial Department of Culture and Sports has planned to hold nearly 30 cultural and music activities from February 3 to 21 (lunar December 22, 2020 to lunar January 10). These activities generally take place in Nha Trang City.
Specifically, the provincial museum will hold an antique fair and a themed exhibition on Vietnamese traditional folk paintings and display prize-winning ornamental plants and flowers. The provincial library will cooperate with the provincial Journalists’ Association to organize the Spring Newspaper Festival.

The provincial Center of Monument Conservation will hold shows of traditional musical instruments and displays of calligraphy works at Ponagar Temple; and shows of traditional art of Cham people’s at 2-4 Square (Nha Trang). The center will also invite Cham artisans to perform techniques of pottery making and brocade weaving at Hon Chong tourist attraction. The provincial Traditional Art Theater will hold four shows of Tuong (Vietnamese classical drama) and Bai Choi (folk singing).
The provincial Cultural-Cinema Center and Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe are in charge of the majority of the activities on the occasion of Tet 2021. The two agencies will co-organize a music and art show to celebrate the success of the 13th National Party Congress at 2-4 Square on February 3 night and a music and fashion show on Lunar New Year’s Eve. Besides, each agency will hold their own activities, such as unicorn-lion-dragon dances and a music show on February 16 and night street art shows of the provincial Cultural-Cinema Center; and a music-fashion show at 2-4 Square on February 17 of Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe.
New features
This year, the activities celebrating Tet have some new features in terms of format and content. The music shows of Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe will have the combination between their old repertoire and their recently created ones, between the traditional cultural features, modern music and bustling atmosphere of the spring.
The exhibition of Vietnam’s folk paintings, jointly organized by Khanh Hoa provincial museum and Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, opened on January 11. All the exhibited paintings are the exclusive ones. The museum also provides the visitors knowledge and information about the techniques and making process of Dong Ho paintings. The outdoor space of the museum has been designed to display ornamental plants and bonsai. Besides, there is space for a small golf course.
Through the cultural and music activities on Tet days, the province wants to highlight the meaning and traditional values of Tet and Khanh Hoa’s culture as well as introduce the potential and beauty of Nha Trang City, Khanh Hoa Province to tourists.
