In the first months of 2021, Khanh Hoa Province’s culture sector has focused on propagating COVID-19 prevention and control instructions in various forms. The propagation has contributed to raise people's awareness of the pandemic.
Intensifying roving propagation
Right after the fourth wave of COVID-19, the cultural sector changed from suspending cultural and art activities to focusing on propagating pandemic prevention and control. The roving propagation vehicles of the provincial Center of Culture and Cinema have widely disseminated information about COVID-19 instructions in the districts, towns, and cities across the province. In May, these propagation vehicles made 16 propagation sessions in the localities. Nguyen Thanh Ba (Cam Duc Town, Cam Lam District) hails the propagation form by vehicles. He says that listening to and watching visual images at the same time help people have a better understanding of the risks and preventive measures.
The provincial Center of Culture and Cinema has carried out several propagation activities in different forms for more than a year. The roving music group of the center has staged many short dramas and music shows about COVID-19. From the beginning of March to April 29, the group made 19 music shows to propagate the pandemic prevention and control in many localities of the province. Besides, hundreds of propagation banners and posters have been hung and displayed.
Increasing propagation activities
In Nha Trang City, since the beginning of the year, propagation activities about the pandemic prevention and control have been carried out regularly. Especially, from the beginning of May until now, these activities have been carried out more frequently, which has resulted in more effective results.
According to Tran Thanh Nha, deputy head of Nha Trang City Bureau of Culture and Information, the bureau proposed the city People's Committee issue directive documents on strengthening propagation; instructing residents to install Bluezone app and making medical declaration online using QR code; applying technology in preventing and controlling the outbreak; and implementing response measures at business facilities in the city.
The city’s radio station has also spent more time for news and propagation about COVID-19. In the morning and afternoon every day, COVID-19 news, announcements, prevention and control instructions are broadcast through local sirens, especially in the period of the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2021-2026 term. Information spread through the siren system has helped to update local people on the situations of the pandemic. The interdisciplinary inspection delegation of Nha Trang City’s culture and information sectors has made inspections at 77 business facilities of non-essential services to ensure the operation closure.
Intensifying visual and direct propagation is helping to raise the public’s awareness of COVID-19 prevention and control. In the time to come, the agencies and localities in the province will deploy the propagation activities with more diverse forms and content.
