The year of 2020 was a challenging year for Khanh Hoa Radio and Television (KTV). However, with great enthusiasm, KTV staff strived to overcome all difficulties to ensure the quality of their programs, attracting the attention of viewers and listeners.
New workplace
The new workplace of KTV is located at An Binh Tan Urban Area, Phuoc Long Ward, Nha Trang City. Le Anh Vu, director of KTV, said, “KTV has undergone many difficulties in recent past. Moving to the new workplace when the facilities were not ready, we all tried together to overcome the initial difficulties. Just greening the campus of thousands of square meters within ten months since moving here proved our efforts.” Everything was in disarray in the first days at the new workplace. KTV staff not only strived to set up the new working facilities but also strived to produce quality programs, added Le Anh Vu.
Reportedly, in 2020, in more than ten days, hundreds of trips carried tens of tons of equipment from KTV’s old workplace (70 Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang) to An Binh Tan Urban Area regardless of day and night. During that time, every member of KTV staff performed their specialized tasks in the daytime and transferred equipment at nighttime. There was time when the technical department had to take advantage of backup equipment to set up a field workplace for broadcasting to ensure the continuation of the programs.
Diversifying channels
The first months of 2021 continue to be a challenging time for KTV. The development of technology has led to the explosion of multimedia platforms, resulting in the drop in number of viewers and advertising revenue. However, KTV has strived to maintain the quality of their programs. KTV has changed to adapt to new situations caused by the pandemic. The programs have still been updated with new situations; timely reflected social issues of public concern such as politics, economy, culture, society, security, national defense and foreign affairs; oriented public opinion; and created new and attractive programs.
Deputy Director of KTV, Tran Minh Thao, said that although social media have made a certain influence on viewers and listeners, it can help creating opportunities for the television and radio to diversify their channels. Visual radio has been promoted, helping listeners to interact with radio programs. Amid the outbreak of COVID-19, KTV has strived to produce new programs namely career story, my love Bolero, and beauty of life. News programs have also been changed to attract viewers. By the end of this year, KTV expects to produce more new programs to serve the needs of their viewers and listeners.
Regarding to the orientations in the near future, Le Anh Vu affirmed that, besides political tasks, KTV will still focus on producing news, political commentaries, art, entertainment, and charity programs; and tries to make money from social media such as Facebook and YouTube. The station will also continue promoting the role of a local radio and television, a mouthpiece of the Party Committee, provincial authorities, and the public.
