In two recent months, Khanh Hoa Province’s Center of Culture and Cinema has increased propagation of COVID-19 prevention and control over the province. Forms of visual propagation have also been implemented to update people on the situations of the pandemic.
Focusing on mobile propagation
Before the 4th wave of COVID-19 broke out, the provincial Department of Culture and Sports had directed the provincial Center of Culture and Cinema to conduct 19 music programs about the pandemic prevention and control for people in many localities over the province. The center also integrated the propaganda of the "5K" message of the Ministry of Health into their mobile film screenings.
After the pandemic broke out, all cultural and music activities have been suspended or cancelled. Therefore, propagation activities have been changed to mobile forms. “Recently, mobile propagation vehicles have often travelled to our residential area to provide us information about the pandemic. The information was conveyed briefly, which enabled us to understand easily,” said Nguyen Huu Chung in Phu Loc Dong residential area (Dien Khanh Town).
Reportedly, the provincial Center of Culture and Cinema held 16 mobile propaganda activities by vehicles in May and June and 60 ones in July and August. The propaganda cars and motorbikes travelled to remote areas and ethnic minority areas in the province. Besides, the center has hung 205 propagation banners; designed 50 propagation infographics; and made 50 propagation posters about COVID-19. The instructions of the Ministry of Health and information about situations of the pandemic are also updated regularly on the LED screen installed at the exhibition venue at No.5 2-4 Street.
Propagation will be implemented in many forms
On its website, the provincial Department of Culture and Sports and its affiliated units have published many articles and documents about COVID-19 prevention and control measures, and the orders of the Central and province on strengthening the measures in new situations. The department has also encouraged the employees in cultural and sports sector to propagate information about the pandemic prevention and control on Tiktok and Facebook. Additionally, the department has also issued instructions on pandemic prevention and control measures implemented at funerals during social distancing period.
In the time to come, based on the evolution of the pandemic, the provincial Department of Culture and Sports will make appropriate forms to promote propagation activities, especially by vehicles, across the province; and promote the application of information technology in propagation activities.
After the social distance order is lifted, the provincial Department of Culture and Sports will coordinate with Khanh Hoa Radio and Television to film short dramas about COVID-19 prevention and control to broadcast on KTV and social networking sites. In addition, the department will collect images and material of people involving in the pandemic prevention and control work across the province to hold online exhibitions to raise people’s awareness and responsibility in the fight against the pandemic.
