Screenwriter Nguyen Sy Chuc has produced some stage scripts. One of them brought him an award for the best writer presented by Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association.
Besides, he has also been invited to judge contests organized by Vietnam Stage Artists’ Association. The impacts of COVID-19 have affected the stage festivals and contests as well as the work launching of the artists and writers, but Chuc has still researched and written stage scripts, with which he was self-assured.

As for fine art, there haven’t been many national and regional contests and exhibitions held in 2021. Khanh Hoa painters and sculptors haven’t had many opportunities to take part in contests or exhibitions. Just recently, painter Bui Trung Chinh took part in a contest of Vietnam Fine Art Association and obtained a consolation award with a work carved on aluminum namely “A peaceful day”. Although there haven’t been many contests and exhibitions held this years, painters and sculptors of Khanh Hoa have still created works which have been applied in practice.
As for the field of literature and photography, music-dance, folk music, the writers and artists have also showed their efforts in creating new creative works. The writers and poets over the province have produced hundreds of works of different genres. Nine publications of poems, short stories, novels, and proses have been published. Photographic artist Ha Binh won a bronze medal at an international contest organized in Vietnam in 2021 by Vietnam Photographic Artists’ Association. Some other photographic artists of Khanh Hoa have also achieved awards at some international photo contests. Hundreds of songs have been produced. Song writer Hinh Phuoc Lien introduced to the public his book with 56 writings about motherland and love for national sea and islands. Researchers Ngo Van and Nguyen Trieu Duong have created good works, which were given high awards by Vietnam Folk Art Association.
The provincial Literature and Art Association has tried to organize activities to encourage its members to create new works. For example, the association held field trips to the provinces of Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, Binh Dinh and some northwestern provinces. Through the composing camp in Vung Tau City, the members of the association produced 100 works of literature and art. The association has also successfully organized two photo and fine art exhibitions; held some exchanges for the artists and writers; presented five-year literature-art awards to the members with many contributions to the province’s literature and art; and encouraged the members to create works about the pandemic prevention and control.
The year of 2021 is a year with many problems and difficulties caused by COVID-19; however Khanh Hoa writers and artists have strived to create, publish, and exhibit works.
