Contributing to preserve heritages
Despite the fact that they have not been in good health conditions, People’s Artist Tran Ri and Meritorious Artist Mau Quoc Tien have made contributions to the preservation of the values and beauties of local traditional culture. People’s Artist Tran Ri has tried to teach young people in his family and in the locality knowledge and technique of Bai Choi art form. Meritorious Artist Mau Quoc Tien has devoted his time to compiling information and documents about the culture of Raglai people in Khanh Son District.
The two artists were offered certificates of honor of the provincial People’s Committee for their contributions at the 2nd provincial Congress on Cultural Heritage and Spiritual Tourism Preservation held in November 2021. Meritorious Artist Mau Quoc Tien considers studying and compiling the cultural heritages of Raglai people are his responsibility and passion. He wants to make contribution to preserve the cultural beauties of the Raglai.
The provincial Association of Cultural Heritage and Religious Tourism Preservation in 2021 strived to overcome the impacts and difficulties caused by COVID-19 pandemic to participate in the activities to preserve and promote the values of cultural heritages in the province. For example, the association organized some traditional festivals; associated with the provincial Department of Culture and Sports to organize a scientific seminar on the practice of Thien Y A Na Holy Mother worship in Khanh Hoa; checked and took over a scientific work about the village culture in Dien Khanh District; participated in the province-level work about building the database of Bai Choi in Khanh Hoa; helped to hold an exhibition about the province. Additionally, the association’s members contributed to make documents for the province-level monuments namely Hon Heo Revolutionary Base and Da Ban Revolutionary Base.
Striving to perform roles effectively
In 2021, the provincial Association of Cultural Heritage and Religious Tourism Preservation encouraged units, organizations and businesses to respond and take part in many movements related to Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day as well as renovation, embellishment, and building work of historical, cultural, and religious monuments; introduced the images, cultural values, and unique traditions of Khanh Hoa to domestic and foreign tourists. In the time to come, besides strengthening the association, it will attach special importance to increase the number of members; establish and consolidate the affiliated units in order to effectively perform and prove the roles of the association in developing culture and tourism while still preserving tangible and intangible cultural heritages in the province, according to Le Van Hoa, deputy director of the provincial Department of Culture and Sports.
In 2022, the provincial Association of Cultural Heritage and Religious Tourism Preservation plans to focus on researching to propose solutions for the preservation and promotion of cultural values. The association will also coordinate with other provincial department and sectors to organized scientific congresses and seminars on improving the values of the cultural heritages in the province; encourage its members to contribute effectively in heritage preservation and promotion work. A scientific seminar about General Trinh Phong is also planned to be held in 2022.
In 2021, Khanh Hoa Provincial Association of Cultural Heritage and Religious Tourism Preservation called for contributions from its members and businesses to hold six visits and offered gifts to front-line forces of COVID-19 prevention and control and people in quarantine areas; offered necessaries to foreigners, who faced difficulties amid the pandemic, in Nha Trang City. On the upcoming Lunar New Year, the association will visit seven people’s artists and meritorious artists in the districts of Khanh Son and Van Ninh and Nha Trang City.
