For many years, there haven’t been many exhibitions held at Khanh Hoa Museum. Just only some themed exhibitions are held every year. The ways of display and introduction of the objects haven’t been attractive enough to attract visitors.

The museum was established in 1976. Although being repaired many times, its facilities haven’t still been good enough to satisfy the needs of learning about local history and culture of the visitors. The museum doesn’t have place to store and preserve the objects. The display section is only 200 square meters meanwhile the museum has over 1,000 precious objects needed to be preserved and exhibited. “The spiritual life of people is increasingly improving. It is necessary for Khanh Hoa to have a modern, interesting museum with diverse activities reflecting local cultural and historical features. It will be an importance cultural highlight impressing tourists and investors when visiting the province,” said director of Khanh Hoa Museum - Nguyen Thanh Phong.
Khanh Hoa’s leadership has made many directions about the investment in the provincial museum. The museum is coordinating with relevant agencies, units and businesses to take necessary steps for the application of science, technologies and digital technologies to the display and introduction of objects.
According to Phan Quang Vinh, director of Tung Viet Media Company (Ho Chi Minh City), the consultant for the display of objects of Khanh Hoa Museum, the company will use the latest technologies, equipment, software, etc. to tell stories about Khanh Hoa’s history and culture through digitized objects. Modern technologies help convey rich and diverse messages and stories of the exhibits to the visitors. The technologies will also be updated to create new methods of display and introduction.
The application of technologies at Khanh Hoa Museum will be carried out in four sections with themes such as prehistoric culture; culture of Khanh Hoa ethnic groups; Khanh Hoa’s history and culture from 1653 up to present; sea and island culture; and revolutionary struggle of Khanh Hoa people. Khanh Hoa has planed to build a new museum. The technologies that will be applied in the display of the current museum is completely suitable in both content and form and can be upgraded when being applied at the new museum.
With positive signals of the operation of Khanh Hoa Museum, hopefully in the near future, it will really be a cultural place attracting locals and tourists to visit regularly.
