Incorporating digital exhibition "Hoang Sa and Truong Sa of Vietnam" into schools

Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee on February 23 issued a plan on organizing digital exhibition "Hoang Sa Sa (Spratly) and Truong Sa (Paracel) of Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence" at high schools and junior high schools in the province in the period of 2022 -2026.

- The first digital exhibition Hoang Sa and Truong Sa belong to Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence was organized at Nguyen Van Troi Junior High School (Nha Trang City) in 2019. The second exhibition took place at Ly Tu Trong High School and Ha Huy Tap High School (Nha Trang) in 2020. In 2021, the exhibition was cancelled due to the outbreak of COVID-19.
 
- At the digital exhibition, the teachers and students saw the digital displays of documents and objects relating to the sea and island sovereignty of Vietnam; experienced using digital technologies in learning detailed information about Truong and Hoang Sa through 3D digital models, digital images, game apps, etc.
 
- The exhibition also displayed tens of documents and maps of historical and legal evidence proving Vietnam's sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes. Besides, the organization board invited people who were knowledgeable about the aforementioned subjects to give more knowledge and help students understand more about the nation’s sovereignty, economic strength, and natural conditions of the national sea and islands.
 
- What are the content of the digital exhibition Hoang Sa and Truong Sa belong to Vietnam - Historical and legal evidence held in 2022-2026 period?
 
- The plan of the provincial People's Committee specifies three main groups of content of the exhibition, including: digital exhibition; exhibitions displaying propaganda paintings, documents and maps on Vietnam's sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos; exchanges and discussions. In the digital exhibition, the ancient documents, official documents of Vietnamese kings, ancient map of Vietnam, maps of Western countries, maps of China, documents originating before 1975, models of fishing vessels, sovereignty markers, and models of Hoang Sa fleet ships, etc. will be displayed on LED screens. There are also interactive integrated documents and objects presented with audio and writing.

- The exhibition will display 30 to 40 documents and maps relating to the process of establishing and exercising sovereignty of Vietnam over sea and islands from the 17th century to the 20th century; manuscripts of Nguyen Dynasty from the reigns of King Minh Mang to King Bao Dai reflecting the process of the nation in establishing and defending sovereignty continuously under the dynasty; maps of Vietnam and Western countries published between the 16th and the 19th centuries proving Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes; China’s maps published in Western region from the 16th to the 20th centuries which did not include the two archipelagos; China’s maps published by Chinese dynasties from the 16th to the 20th centuries which did not record that the two archipelagos belong to China.
 
- Through the exhibition, we hope to raise awareness of teachers and students about the role, importance and potential of Vietnam's sea and islands as well as their awareness of responsibilities in protecting the nation’s sovereignty over sea and islands.
