Art program celebrating 370 years of construction and development of Khanh Hoa Province to be deep in traditional culture

The ceremony to celebrate 370 years of construction and development of Khanh Hoa Province (1653-2023) will take place at 2-4 Square (Nha Trang City) at 8pm on April 1. The themed art program about Khanh Hoa, the land of aloeswood, will to be deep in traditional culture and feature many local cultural characteristics.

Deep in traditional colors
 
The art program aims to show and clarify the historical and cultural hallmarks, construction and development process of Khanh Hoa. The program will feature many famous and new song and folk songs about Khanh Hoa and the nation performed in the forms of singing, dancing, circus acts, physical theater, traditional theater, and short play. Spectacular effects by modern technology will add more attractiveness to the performances.

The art program includes three parts: “sacredness and legend”, "indomitable and resilient spirit", “aspiration - towards future". Khanh Hoa is a convergence of many cultures and unique cultural types of ethnic groups. Therefore, through the art program, the organization committee want to show the most typical values of Khanh Hoa's traditional culture in order to evoke pride of cultural identities and values in Khanh Hoa people, according to Nguyen Van Thien, director of Khanh Hoa  Provincial Department of Culture and Sports.
 
The performances in section 1 will show the cultural characteristics of people living in the areas of mountain, plain, sea, and island. The traditional songs, dances, festivals, beliefs, costumes of the ethnic groups of Kinh, Raglai, Ede, T'rin, etc. represented in the performances will give the audience a picture of the process of Khanh Hoa people reclaiming land, building villages, searching for aloeswood and firewood in forests, catching seafood, etc. 
 
Will and aspiration for prominence
 
Khanh Hoa Province is not only rich in traditional culture but also abound in revolutionary traditions. The images of Khanh Hoa’s notables, who contributed much in protecting the land in the past, will be depicted in the performances of section 2. 
 
Meanwhile, section 3 focuses on showing the aspiration for prominence and bright future of Khanh Hoa people through modern youth music. 
 
The art program has 90 minutes’ duration; the content of the program is advised by PhD Nguyen Viet Chuc and professor of history Le Van Lan. The program will have the participation of 600 artists, singers and professional and amateur dancers of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Khanh Hoa.
