The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung recently signed a decision on adding the working house of Doctor A. Yersin at Hon Ba (Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District) to the list of the national historical monuments related to Dr. A. Yersin.
On September 28, 1990, the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) recognized the historical monument commemorating Dr. A. Yersin as a national monument. The monument includes three separate places, which are the typical ones and were closely connected with the life and career of the doctor in Khanh Hoa Province, namely the library at Nha Trang Pasteur Institute, Linh Son Phap An Pagoda and the grave of Doctor A. Yersin in Suoi Cat Commune.
Doctor A. Yersin's working house is located at the top of Hon Ba at an altitude of 1,578m above sea level, about 60km southwest of Nha Trang. In 1914, Dr. A. Yersin built a wooden house in Hon Ba for working and living. The house was damaged due to many objective causes and after that was rebuilt by Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.
