Popularizing beauties of Khanh Hoa

Khanh Hoa Newspaper recently held the award ceremony of the photo and video contest "Beautiful moments of the land of aloeswood". 17 entries out of over 240 ones of the entrants in Khanh Hoa and other localities were given prizes. The contest helped to introduce and popularize the beauties of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa.

Impressive moments

Launched from March 10 to June 10, the photo and video contest received 226 photo entries (199 photos, 27 photo sets), and 15 video entries.

The quality of the entries showed the entrants’ dedication in depicting impressive moments of people and landscape of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa and their affection for the land. Vuong Manh Cuong, first-prize winner in photo category, said that his photo namely Nha Trang lighting up was taken at the transition of daylight into sunset, when the sun was still shining in the west and the streets were starting to light up. Through this photo, the photographer wanted to convey a message of the beauty of dynamic and beautiful Nha Trang City. The video “Rising Again” of Tran Quoc Dat inspired by the huge impact of Covid-19 on socio-economic activities and livelihood of people in Nha Trang won the first prize in video category. With the images in the video, Dat hopes to show viewers an image of Nha Trang overcoming and recovering from the negative impact of the pandemic and rising towards a better future.

From familiar and unusual angles, the entries depicted the richness of beauty of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa with a beautiful and long beach, charming women dancing Cham dances at Ponagar Temple, festive activities, stories about the land of aloeswood and salangenes nest, daily activities of people in fishing villages, etc. 

Thai Thi Le Hang, Editor-in-Chief, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, highly appreciated the investment and creativeness of the entrants in creating beautiful moments and quality entries. Some videos were bilingual in Vietnamese and English, aiming to convey positive values in life and promote local tourism. 

A meaningful contest 

Khanh Hoa Newspaper organized the photo and video contest "Beautiful moments of the land of aloeswood" to celebrate the 370th anniversary of construction and development of Khanh Hoa Province (1653 - 2023), Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2023, 20th anniversary of Khanh Hoa Online, 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2023). The contest was sponsored by Vingroup.

As said by Thai Thi Le Hang, the contest created a meaningful playground and positive results and stimulated the interaction between Khanh Hoa Newspaper and its readers. She also hopes that after the contest, the readers across the country will continue interacting and cooperating with Khanh Hoa Newspaper to create more quality photos and videos about Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa and help to introduce the images of the land to many people in the country and over the world. 

Entrant Huu Vuong sent his video "Love for the coastal city" presented in Vietnamese and English with the desire to introduce beautiful images of the monuments and landscapes of Nha Trang to many domestic and foreign tourists. In Vuong’s video, pupils told viewers about the city through their stories.
Entrant Vuong Manh Cuong has participated in many domestic and foreign contests and has won some awards, but participating in the photo and video contest organized by Khanh Hoa Newspaper still brought him unique feelings. The contest required the entries not only to have good quality and technique but also to deliver emotions that can touch viewers’ hearts. The contest was mainly intended for creating more photos and videos to promote the images of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, so it inspired a lot of people to submit their works.

Hoping to spread and promote the images of Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa to people over the country and the world, at the award ceremony, the contest’s organization committee presented all the prize-winning videos to some agencies and units namely Nha Trang City People's Committee, Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Tourism, Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, Provincial Youth Union, Cam Ranh International Airport, Cam Ranh International Terminal Joint Stock Company, and Champa Resort & Spa. 

The organization committee gave 11 prizes in the photo category (first prize, second prize, third prize, consolation prize) and 6 prizes in video category (second prize, third prize, consolation prize).
