Art program about sea-based prosperity to take place in Nha Trang

An art program about sea-based strength and prosperity organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV), Central Propaganda Department, the General Department of Politics of Vietnam People's Army and Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee is going to take place in Nha Trang on August 12. Pham Manh Hung, Deputy General Director of VOV, gave an interview to Khanh Hoa Newspaper about the art program.

- What message do the organizers want to convey through this art program?

- The 12th Party Central Committee issued Resolution No.36 on the development for Vietnam's marine economy to 2030, with a vision to 2045 in 2018. Accordingly, by 2030, Vietnam is expected to become a strong sea-based country, which basically meets the criteria for sustainable marine economy development; forms marine ecological culture; proactively adapts to climate change and sea level rise; protect sea environment; restore and preserve important marine ecosystems.

The art program is organized to review the plans and activities carried out in 5 years of implementing the resolution. The main message of the program is to cultivate the spirit of national pride and determination to protect the national sovereignty over sea and islands; raise public awareness of preserving and promoting the diverse potential of the nation’s sea and islands; affirm the desire to maintain peace at sea of Vietnam, etc.

- Vietnam has 28 coastal provinces and cities. What does being chosen as the venue for the art program mean to Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa?

- Khanh Hoa Province has a coastline of 385km and about 200 large and small islands, including Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos. Khanh Hoa aims to become a major marine economic center of the country by 2050; a smart and sustainable city on a par with other countries in Asia; one of the coastal attractive tourism cities with livable environment in the continent. Khanh Hoa will exploit and maximize its potential and advantages for development with marine economy as the backbone; processing industry, high manufacturing industry, logistics services, energy industry and digital economy as breakthroughs; tourism as the key.

With advantages of natural conditions, geographical location, natural resources, especially landscape and ecology suitable for marine tourism development, Khanh Hoa has sufficient potential and advantages to become a marine economic center of the country, which is corresponding to the main content of this art program. Being the venue for this event will help to promote the images of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa.
