Ready for Golden Kite Award 2023

The award ceremony of the 20th edition of Golden Kite Awards 2023 is going to take place at Do Theater (Vega City Nha Trang) on September 9 night. Final preparation for the ceremony and side activities is being completed.

Numerous activities

The Golden Kite Awards 2023 marks the first cooperation between Khanh Hoa Province, in particular Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, Vietnam Cinema Association and Vega City Joint Stock Company (KDI Holdings Group). Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee issued the cooperation organization plan for the awarding ceremony and other related activities taking place from September 1 to 9.

Khanh Hoa Provincial Cinema and Culture Center has advertised the Golden Kite Awards 2023 at Cam Ranh International Airport, Vega City and along many streets in Nha Trang City; held mobile film screenings of Golden Kite Awards winning films over the years in the city's coastal parks and remote areas over the province. On September 9 night, the red carpet event and the award ceremony will be screened on a large LED screen at 2-4 Square, Nha Trang City.

Vega City Joint Stock Company has held a culinary festival with 22 booths of salanganes nest, coffee, and Ngoc Linh ginseng, etc. at Vega City campus. This year’s Golden Kite Awards 2023 nominations have been showed free at the beach area in Nha Trang. A dawn  flag-raising ceremony joined by the celebrities attending Golden Kite Awards 2023 takes place at 2-4 Square on September 9 morning. The artists after that will join a bike ride to raise public awareness of environmental protection.

One of the highlights of the Golden Kite Awards 2023 is the Wall of Fame at Vega City Nha Trang, the first project in Vietnam to honor outstanding individuals and groups, who have made many important contributions to the country's cinema. The Wall of Fame features 433 stars, representing 107 typical cinematic works; 297 outstanding authors, artists, actors, filmmakers; and 29 veteran cinematographers of Vietnam’s cinema. The Wall of Fame is expected to become an attractive check-in place for tourists in Nha Trang.

On the night of the awarding ceremony, the organization committee arranges areas for people to posing for photos and taking photos with the artists. There is also an area showcasing the development of Vietnam’s cinema in the past 20 years. The awarding ceremony will be live broadcast on two LED screenings. 

Festive day for filmmakers

The awarding ceremony of this year's Golden Kite Awards will be participated by more than 300 artists and actors, including many veteran and promising young ones, as reported by the organization committee. Besides, the Golden Kite 2023 features the participation of international guests representing the organization committee of the Asian World Film Festival (AWFF) in the US. AWFF predominantly screens Oscar- and Golden Globe-submitted films from Asia for Best Foreign Language Film, aiming to strengthen ties between the Asian and Hollywood film industries. With the participation of AWFF representatives, the award-winners of this year’s Golden Kite Awards and its future editions will have chance to be showcased at the Asian world film festivals in the US.

As said by Do Tuan Anh, general director of KDI Holdings Group, investor of Vega City Nha Trang project, the group always wants to show their respect and desire to develop local culture and contribute to the promotion of tourism of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa. Selecting Do Theater in Vega City Nha Trang as the annual venue for Golden Kite Awards is a strategic decision of the group. Do Theater not only meets strict standards for performance art but also is imbued with Vietnamese cultural characteristics, contributing to promoting the beauty of Vietnam’s culture. The general director hopes that many domestic corporations will join hands with KDI Holdings Group to support and develop the cinema tourism strategy of Khanh Hoa Province and build an international-level film city in Vietnam
