795th birthday of General Tran Hung Dao commemorated

The management committee of Tran Hung Dao Temple in Nha Trang City  held a ceremony to commemorate the 795th birthday of General Tran Hung Dao  (Tran Quoc Tuan) on January 20 (lunar December 10). Present at the ceremony were Ho Van Mung - Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Nha Trang City Party Committee; representatives of the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports and Nha Trang City People’s Committee.

The commemoration included incense offering to the General at his statue and temple at Bach Dang Park; praying for the nation’s peace and good things for people; and other traditional ritual acts. The attendees also reviewed the biography and merits of the General to the nation.

General Tran Hung Dao was born in December 10, 1228. He and the people in the Tran Dynasty repelled the Yuan Mongol invaders in the 13th Century.
