Night art exchange program with Indian artists at Ponagar Temple

Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports recently organized a night art exchange program, namely the moon shines on the towers, at Ponagar Temple. Present at the event were Dinh Van Thieu - Deputy Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee; Madan Mohan Sethi - Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh City; and the leaderships of some provincial departments and sectors.

The night art program was an art exchange program between Khanh Hoa artists and the Indian folk art troupe. Within approximately 120 minutes of the program, the representatives and visitors toured the temple; learned about the historical and cultural values and unique architecture of Ponagar Temple; ritual acts and traditional crafts of Cham people; and so on.
The highlight of the program was the cultural exchange between the artists of Khanh Hoa Provincial Traditional Art Theater; Cham artists of the Provincial Monument Preservation Center and the artists of the Indian folk art troupe. The Vietnamese artists introduced the Indian artists Apsara dance of Cham people, the story about Holy Mother Thien Y Ana through a Tuong performance, dances with hand fans and jars, Chau van (ritual singing) and hau dong (mediumship) dance, etc. The Indian artists performed India’s folk dances and songs, etc.

The night art exchange program was an activity to celebrate the 52nd founding anniversary of Vietnam – India diplomatic ties (January 7, 1972 - January 7, 2024) and the Republic Day of India (January 26, 1950 - January 26, 2024).
