Workshop on documentary film about Dr. Alexandre Yersin

Khanh Hoa Province’s Association of Admirers of Dr. Alexandre Yersin on March 21 organized a workshop on documentary film about Dr. Alexandre Yersin. Present at the workshop were some scientists, admirers of the doctor and staff of Yersin General Hospital Nha Trang.

At the workshop, the attendees watched the documentary film about Dr. Alexandre Yersin produced by Vietnam Television (based in Ho Chi Minh City) in December 1992. The documentary, within nearly 30 minutes, features Dr. A.Yersin, a world-leading scientist, with great contributions to human medicine, an explorer discovering Lang Biang Plateau (Lam Dong Province), Hon Ba peak (Khanh Hoa Province), etc. Especially, the documentary focuses on showing the emotional aspects between Dr. A.Yersin and the people in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa. The documentary also features the images of Nha Trang City, Suoi Dau, Da Lat City in the early 90s of the 20th century. The documentary film won a special award at the 1993 national television film festival.

At the workshop, the representatives discussed about the issues raised in the documentary film; suggested a wide promotion of the documentary; produced new films to honor and spread the spirit of Dr. A.Yersin.
