Land of aloe wood and salanganes nest, source of inspiration for artists

Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa, the place with long history and culture, is considered the land of aloeswood and salanganes nest. The cultural values and characteristics of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa have been the material and muse for generations of artists to create high-quality literary and art works over the years.

Endless source of inspiration

Musician Hinh Phuoc Lien introduced his song namely "Khanh Hoa - future city" at the art program celebrating 100 years of Nha Trang City’s construction and development (1924 - 2024) in early April this year. The meaningful lyrics combined with stirring music left a good impression on the audience. “Currently, the local authorities and people are making efforts towards the goal that by 2030, Khanh Hoa Province will have become a centrally run city. This gave me the ideas to write songs to support this great task of the province. I have written abundant songs about Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa over nearly the past 50 years. Most of my successful works are about Khanh Hoa. For me, Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa is truly a great source of inspiration for my compositions," said musician Hinh Phuoc Lien.

Among the works of screenwriter Nguyen Sy Chuc, there are many ones written about the stories of the land and people of Khanh Hoa. His hometown is Thanh Hoa Province, but he has lived in Nha Trang City for more than 50 years, so this place has become his second hometown. The beautiful scenery and friendly people in Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa are the source of inspiration for the screenwriter to contribute his talent and enthusiasm to the local theater.

The land of aloeswood and salanganes nest has become a source of inspiration for many writers and artists in Khanh Hoa. The province’s writers and artists also constantly strive to create cultural and art works the land which are full of humanity. The works helped to promote Khanh Hoa in particular and the nation in general. Many of them won domestic and international awards and have been highly appreciated by experts and the public.

Cultivating emotions

Khanh Hoa Provincial Cultural and Arts Association has organized many practical activities to encourage and create conditions for the province's writers and artists to create more valuable works about Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa. The association has admitted many new members with professional qualifications in different art forms. Currently, the association has nearly 400 members of 7 specialized branches, including: literature, fine arts, photography, music, theater, folk arts, and dance. 8 members were awarded State Awards of culture and arts by the President. 4 members are People's Artists and 14 are Meritorious Artists.

For many years, the Provincial Cultural and Arts Association has supported its members in creating and publishing works in many different ways. Every year, the Provincial People's Committee presents cultural and art awards to 20 outstanding works of the year. These are the published works and research projects on culture and arts with positive content and high artistic values which effectively serve the tasks of economic, cultural, social, and national security development of the province and country and improve the spiritual life of local people.

In addition, every 5 years, the province organizes provincial 5-year literature – art awards. Up to now, the province has been organized 4 editions of the awards and presented Prize A to 18 artists, Prize B to 45 artists, Prize C to 57 artists, and Consolation Prize to 16 artists. Khanh Hoa is one of the few localities organizing both of these awards, showing the province's attention to the work and activities of the writers and artists. The works and contributions of the writers and artists have contributed to the building and development of local culture and people, meeting the requirements of sustainable development.
