Sea Festival 2025 to be more innovative and creative

On August 27, Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, presided over a meeting on the organization plan of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2025. Also in attendance were Dinh Van Thieu, Deputy Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and the leaders of some provincial departments, agencies, localities, and businesses.

According to the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2025 will feature 58 activities and events from April to June. The main events will take place from June 7 to June 9, under the theme “The cultural heritage space of Khanh Hoa’s sea and islands”. The highlight of the opening ceremony will be a musical performance derived from Whale Worship Ceremony. On the second day of the 2025 Sea Festival, there will be a street carnival, sea sports performances, international art show, and the closing ceremony. The activities of the 2025 Sea Festival will mainly take place in Nha Trang City, with the main locations including 2-4 Square, Thanh Nien football field, and the park areas along Tran Phu Street.

In addition to the main activities, the leaders of the Provincial Department of Culture and Sports also proposed many new and more community-oriented activities compared to the previous editions of Sea Festival, such as 2025 Nha Trang- Khanh Hoa international beach football tournament, Nha Trang Sup Championship, the 2nd Sea Star Nha Trang Bay swimming tournament, Sanest international beach volleyball tournament 2025, “Sky - Sea - Sun & Run” Khanh Hoa Marathon, national sailing championship 2025, international scientific conference “Preserving and promoting Khanh Hoa’s cultural heritages in connection with green growth and sustainable development”, the 2024 environment action month under theme “Green transition, green growth in Nha Trang City”, Khanh Hoa salanganes nest festival, aloeswood festival, and Ao Dai festival.

Speaking at the meeting, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Tan Tuan stated that the 2025 Sea Festival is essential to help introduce and promote the image of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa and boost local tourism activities. However, the organization of the 2025 edition needs to be more innovative and creative compared to the previous editions. In particular, attention must be given to activities and events that are highly interactive and community-oriented so that the sea festival will be truly a public festival.

The provincial departments, sectors, localities, and businesses need to explore linking the 2025 Sea Festival with other major programs and events of the province, such as Ponagar Temple Festival, the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa, and drone light festival.
