796th birthday of General Tran Hung Dao commemorated

The management committee of Tran Hung Dao Temple in Nha Trang City held a ceremony to commemorate the 796th birthday of General Tran Hung Dao on January 9 (lunar December 10). Present at the ceremony were the representatives of local authorities and units.

At the ceremony, the management committee of Tran Hung Dao Temple performed ritual acts to pray for the nation’s peace and good things for people. The attendees reviewed the biography and merits of the General to the nation and offered incense and flowers to the General at his statue.

General Tran Hung Dao commanded soldiers and people in the Tran Dynasty repelled the Yuan Mongol invaders 3 times in the 13th century.

On January 8, the management committee of Tran Hung Dao Temple  held an incense and flower offering ceremony at the statue of the General at Bach Dang Park (Tran Phu Street, Nha Trang City).

Tran Hung Dao Temple, built in 1962, is a place for the public to show their gratitude for the merits of General Tran Hung Dao to the nation.
