Eventful year with many cultural activities

Khanh Hoa Province saw an eventful year of 2024 with numerous cultural activities taking place throughout the province, meeting cultural and entertainment needs of local people and tourists.

In 2024, numerous large scale cultural events and activities took place in Khanh Hoa Province, such as the art show celebrating the 100th anniversary of construction and development of Nha Trang City, the 1st international jazz festival, Nha Trang Sea Tourism Festival 2024, Ever Glamour Nha Trang 2024, and the awarding ceremony of the 2024 Golden Kite Awards. Hai Dang Song and Dance Troupe performed at some major events held in over the province. The troupe also built a program to participate in the national professional song and dance festival organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and won whole-troupe silver medal, 2 gold medals and 2 silver medals for their performances.

The Provincial Traditional Arts Theater and Provincial Cultural-Cinema Center also organized many music programs. The recently staged program of Tuong (classical drama) and folk songs of the Provincial Traditional Arts Theater have been highly received by the audience. The theater continued to hold street art performances at the coastal park area opposite Tue Tinh Street (Nha Trang City); organized 84 performances to serve people in the localities over the province. The Provincial Cultural-Cinema Center successfully organized festivals and contests such as Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Cultural Day; public music contest; music festival for people with disabilities; festival for soldiers; and music program about Gong culture.

Especially, many units in and outside the country have chosen Nha Trang City as the venue for their music and art programs, including the concert of Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra, international chamber concert jointly organized by Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and New York Classical Music Society; Vietnam – South Korea cultural exchange program, etc. Besides the regular music performances of traditional musical instruments and dances by Cham artists from Ninh Thuan Province, Khanh Hoa Center of Monument Preservation had staged and organizes 2 art programs at Ponagar Temple on lunar 1st day and 15th day every month, namely the moon shines on the towers and sacred land of aloewood. The performances of Vietnam’s traditional musical instruments remain as a regular cultural activity at Hon Chong tourist attraction.

According to Le Van Hoa, deputy director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture and Sports, in 2025, the province’s cultural sector will focus on improving the quality of its art activities. Some outstanding cultural activities of Khanh Hoa in 2025 include art programs celebrating the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa and the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; art program celebrating the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh; art performances within the framework of Nha Trang-Khanh Hoa Sea Festival 2025; and so on.
