Developing the arts in new period

Over the past years, many artists in Khanh Hoa Province have made efforts to create quality works that have appealed to the public. In new period of development, it requires positive changes to develop the arts.

The arts play an important role in people’s spiritual life and directly impact each person's perception, viewpoint, ideology, feelings, and aesthetic taste. Therefore, the Party and the State have always paid attention to the arts. In Khanh Hoa Province, the arts have contributed much to local general development. Khanh Hoa Provincial Association of the Arts comprises of nearly 400 members, with 7 specialized branches including: literature; fine art; photography, music; theater; folk art; dance. More than 130 members are the members of central specialized associations; 8 members have been awarded State Prize; 4 members are People's Artists; 14 members are Meritorious Artists. Khanh Hoa artists always work hard to show their love as well as promote the beauties of Khanh Hoa Province in particular and the nation in general through their works.

Recently, Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to implement the directions of the Politburo and the Provincial Party Committee on building and developing the arts in the new period. Accordingly, the Provincial People's Committee announced 7 groups of solutions, such as strengthening the leadership of local authorities in the field of the arts; increasing resources for building and developing the arts; improving the quality the activities of the Provincial Association of the Arts and the arts works; promoting international exchange and cooperation; training and fostering the officials in the field of the arts.

According to Le Van Hoa, deputy director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, implementing the plan of the Provincial People's Committee, the department will cooperate with other departments, agencies and units to effectively develop the arts in the new period. On the basis of the regulations of the Central Government, the department will propose specific incentive mechanisms and policies suitable to the conditions of the province. The Provincial Association of the Arts needs to innovate its methods of operation, encourage the members to promote creativity and exercise copyright; gather and promote the creativity of artists, create diversity in creation; enhancing exchange and interaction between artists and the public, etc.
