At the meeting, the Institute for Conservation of Monuments confirmed the historical, cultural and architectural values of Dien Khanh Citadel national monument as well as the current status of protection and promotion of its value. It is necessary to compile a dossier to propose recognizing Dien Khanh Citadel as a special national monument. The representatives of the institute also stated some issues worth attention while compiling the dossier.
Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism agreed with the opinions of the Institute for Conservation of Monuments and requested that its specialized departments and affiliated public service units implement the process in accordance with regulations based on the opinions.

On May 20, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism sent an official dispatch to Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee approving the proposal on compiling a dossier on Dien Khanh Citadel to submit to the Prime Minister for recognizing it as a special national monument.
Dien Khanh Citadel was built in 1793, covering an area of 3.5 hectares, with a length of over 2,600 meters and a wall height of over 3.5 meters. In 1988, the citadel was recognized as a national historical and cultural monument.
