With rich cultural value, long-standing history, many monuments, cultural heritages, and famous landscapes honored domestically and internationally, long coastline, many islands, beautiful bays and deep-water sea ports, Khanh Hoa has many opportunities and momentum to promote sustainable socio-economic development.
Land of monuments and cultural heritages
Currently, Khanh Hoa Province has 4 heritages recognized by UNESCO (Nui Chua World Biosphere Reserve, art of pottery-making of Cham people, art of Bai Choi in central region, Art of Don Ca Tai Tu music and song in southern region); 5 national treasures (Hoa Lai stele; relief of King Po Rome; Phuoc Thien stele; statue of King Po Klong Garai; Khanh Son lithophone collection); 3 special national monuments (Po Klong Garai Tempe; Hoa Lai Tempe; Po Nagar Tempe); 28 national historical monuments, cultural monuments, and scenic sites; 241 province-level monuments; 12 intangible cultural heritages included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages.

"The province's abundant and diverse tangible and intangible cultural heritages create a unique cultural and tourism environment that few other localities can offer. This is an invaluable resource and a significant advantage for the province to promote tourism development with various distinctive and highly competitive tourism products," said PhD Trinh Dang Khoa, chairman of the University Council of Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture.
Enhancing value of historical monuments, heritages and scenic spots
Khanh Hoa has carried out many activities to leverage its potential and advantages, aiming to create a breakthrough for socioeconomic development. Cultural and sea and island tourism have become a key strength with numerous sightseeing, experiential and leisure tours. This is a basis and advantage for Khanh Hoa to implement strategic actions to elevate the value of its historical monuments, heritages and scenic spots in the new era.
In order to achieve these objectives, in the 2025-2030 period, the province will focus on preserving and promoting the value of special national monuments of Po Klong Garai Temple, Hoa Lai Temple and Po Nagar Temple in alignment with tourism; develop a comprehensive project to digitize cultural heritages. Additionally, the province will preserve and develop traditional craft villages (Bau Truc pottery village, My Nghiep brocade weaving village, and Van Phu incense-making village) in alignment with tourism. Technology will be used to improve tourists’ experience as well as management of the heritages. Besides, the province will organize various cultural and tourism events such as festivals, cultural weeks, special exhibitions, and nation-level or international-level artistic events to promote local culture.
Becoming an international sea tourism center
According to Le Van Hoa, deputy director of the Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province's major goal in the time to come is building Khanh Hoa into a high-quality international sea tourism and service center, a leading destination in Southeast Asia. In order to achieve the goal, in 2025, the province strives to complete the development strategy of Khanh Hoa tourism for the 2025 – 2030 period, with a vision to 2045.

The province will also develop world-class sea tourism infrastructure and amenities, including upgrading and expanding Cam Ranh International Airport to 5-star standards; modernize the system of sea ports to accommodate large international vessels; build coastal resort-entertainment-commercial complexes; establish duty-free shopping centers and themed parks; develop transport links connecting Van Phong - Nha Trang - Vinh Hy - Ninh Chu coastal regions; develop diverse and unique sea tourism products with focus on high-end tourism products; strengthen management and issue policies for tourism development; etc.
