More tourist experience with cultural activities at monuments

Khanh Hoa Provincial Cultural Heritage Preservation Center has organized cultural activities and music performances at monuments and other tourist attractions in the province to serve local people and tourists. These activities improve tourist experience as well as provide visitors better understanding of the cultural heritages, land and people in Khanh Hoa.

Interesting cultural activities

Hoang Thi Huong from Son La Province recently toured Po Nagar Temple national special monument (Bac Nha Trang Ward) and was impressed with Cham dances and performances of musical instruments of Cham people such as Ghinang , Saranai  and Paranung. She was also interested in seeing Cham artisans demonstrating how to weave brocade and make their traditional pottery. "I think introducing Cham people’s culture within the sacred atmosphere of this ancient temple is truly fascinating. Tourists visiting the temple can learn about the hundreds-of-years-old monument with unique architecture and also experience the rich material and spiritual features that defines the distinct culture of Khanh Hoa people," said Huong.

Launched since early 2025, the arts programs namely Sacred land of aloeswood and Moonlight reflecting on the temples at the Po Nagar Temple national special monument held on the 1st and 15th nights of every lunar month have become a remarkable cultural activities for local people and tourists. These activities also aim to boost nighttime tourism activities. Besides, the regular performances of Cham brocade weaving and folk arts offer unique cultural experience to visitors.

Meanwhile, at Po Klong Garai Temple national special monument (Do Vinh Ward), Cham folk arts performances take place on weekends to help promote Cham people's cultural heritages and enhance the monument’s value in tourism. Besides enjoying the performances, tourists can take part in the dances with Cham artisans and amateur artists.

Visitors to Hon Chong - Hon Do national scenic spot (Bac Nha Trang Ward) can enjoy performances of traditional musical instruments. Since the beginning of the year, members of the local music group have performed over 13,000 performances, including ensembles and solos with instruments like the lithophone, T’rưng,  monochord, and drums. In addition to beautiful landscape, Vietnam’ traditional music performances contribute to the attraction of this national scenic spot.

Changes will be carried out

According to Hoang Quy, deputy director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation, the music performances and introduction of traditional crafts have enriched the cultural tourism services at these monuments and tourist attractions. The periodic arts programs at Po Nagar Temple and Po Klong Garai Temple have attracted a large number of visitors and helped to spread Cham cultural value. The performances of traditional musical instruments at Hon Chong - Hon Do scenic spot with create a distinctive cultural atmosphere and enhance tourist experience.

In 2026, the Provincial Center for Cultural Heritage Preservation plans to intensify the organization of regular music programs and special events at monuments and scenic spots, integrating them with traditional festivals and major holidays to create highlights for cultural tourism. The center also intends to develop highly interactive and visual cultural activities for visitors with exhibitions of paintings and calligraphy, introducing traditional crafts, and hands-on tourist experience (weaving brocade and making pottery. The center will enhance the application of technology in promoting destinations, specifically through livestreaming arts programs and developing virtual monument experience. Furthermore, the center will cooperate with travel agencies and tourism businesses to create night tours and cultural experience tours in order to promote the value of the monuments and quality and effectiveness of the local cultural tourism activities.
