Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee has issued a plan to organize the 2026 Cham pottery product design contest. The competition aims to preserve and promote the values of intangible cultural heritage of Cham pottery art, encourage innovative product designs for Bau Truc craft village in Ninh Phuoc Commune, enhance the brand value of local crafts, and connect artisans and designers with the craft village.

The contest is open to both domestic and international individuals and organizations, including artisans, craftspeople, painters, sculptors, designers, architects, lecturers, students, businesses, cooperatives, and pottery production facilities. Entrants may submit works individually or in groups. Submissions are categorized into distinct divisions: souvenirs and gifts, household items, interior and exterior decor, fine arts, cultural and tourism products, and other applied pottery products.
The contest will be conducted in two rounds. In the preliminary round, entrants submit an official registration form, 2D or 3D design drawings, and a concept statement. Entries selected for the final round will be developed into physical products. Entrants from Khanh Hoa Province are encouraged to craft their entries using traditional materials and techniques from the craft village, while out-of-province and international entrants may submit 1:1 or scaled-down models. Upon request, organizers will facilitate connections between entrants and Bau Truc Cham pottery artisans, cooperatives, and production facilities.

Entries will be scored on a 100-point scale based on creativity and aesthetic value (30 points); practical application and commercial viability (30 points); cultural value and preservation of Bau Truc Cham pottery identity (20 points); and manufacturing feasibility and quality of the concept statement (20 points).

The awards include 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, and 10 consolation prizes, official certificates, and cash awards. The closing ceremony, results announcement, and award presentation are scheduled for October 10, 2026, held in conjunction with Kate Festival of Cham people.

The organizing committee will accept applications and contest entries from August 10 to September 10, 2026. Entrants may submit their applications and entries in person at Khanh Hoa Provincial Cultural Center (No. 5, 2-4 Street, Nha Trang Ward) or send them via postal service to the same address.
