With the natural beauty and the local culture, Hon Giao mountain pass base is a favorite destination for tourists on Nha Trang – Da Lat route.

Ben Loi stop

At present, in most Nha Trang – Da Lat tours, there’s always a stop at Ben Loi, which is situated at the bottom of Hon Giao mountain pass.  “Tourists, both domestic and foreign, like this spot to take a rest and relax. The beauty of landscape and the culture of the minority people here attract them”, said Nguyen Long, a tourist guide of Vietour Company.

Stopping at Ben Loi, visitors can enjoy dishes in mountain and forest style, know more about the local minority people T’rin and Raglai or simply sip coffee and contemplate the scenery of Trang River. By the river, the image of local innocent children playing with water brings tourist a peaceful feeling. Grace Hopper, an English tourist, said, “The short stop here makes me feel  at ease and see the life of the local people here. It also makes me more eager in my trip.”

Ecological tourist site formed

According to Son Thai Commune’s authority, the development of tourist services in Ben Loi has created jobs with good income for some local people, especially minority people because from a favorite stop, many people have thought of building forest ecological tourist areas to serve tourist better.

Two months ago, Suoi Da – Hon Giao Ecological Tourist Site, invested by Rong Phuong Dong Trading Service Travel One Member Co., Ltd., started operation. Coming to this tourist site, visitors not only can enjoy food and relax but also can join some other activities such as rowing boat, rafting, watching music performances of the local people, posing with a 6-meter long crossbow, visiting brocade weaving area, seeing music instruments and working tools of the minority people Raglai, E De and H’Mong. Additionally, Suoi Da Restaurant with a capacity of 250 guests serves a lot of local dishes with mountain and forest tastes. “Suoi Da – Hon Giao Ecological Tourist Site owns a fresh space and good services, which brings tourists a relaxing feeling”, said Le Kim Nhut, director of Nha Trang Tre Travel Company.

Huynh Lang Sinh, shared, “Used to work as a tourist guide for many years, I know that tourists like to discover the places they come very much. As a result, our tourist site features the natural landscape and the local culture.”

In the time to come, the tourist site will add some other activities such as guiding tourist to make cakes, performing gongs, shooting with crossbow and staying over-night.

“Suoi Da – Hon Giao Ecological Tourist Site’s operation is encouraged. Inspections show that the tourist site has complied with all regulations”, said Nguyen Hung Cuong, head of Culture -  Information Office of Khanh Vinh District.
