Khanh Hoa Province has targeted an industrial production value of VND31,000 billion to the year 2015, a twofold increase compared with 2010, and the industry and building proportion occupying 46% of the provincial GDP.
Together with the promotion of industrial growth, Cleaner Production In Industry (CPI) Component has been considered as a solution to environmental issues. CPI not only protects the working environment but also contributes to raise manufacturing effectiveness. It is suggested that CPI should be applied in industrial production in Khanh Hoa Province. It can save fuel and materials as well as raise products’ quality.
Enterprises which have taken part in (CPI) Component can be provided support from environment funds. After 10 years of participation in (CPI) Component, Rang Dong Paper Joint Stock Company, Dien Khanh District, has saved 90kg of materials, over 300kwh of electricity power, 70m3 of water, etc. The company earned an output of 10,313 tons in 2009. In addition, the procedure has considered as an environmental solution. Deputy Director Tran Hoang Ngoc Thao said, "Since the application of CPI, we have reduced negative effects on environment ad earned higher profits.”
Nevertheless, few enterprises have applied CPI in Khanh Hoa Province for lack of information about the benefits of CPI, capital, CPI specialists and policies to encourage the application of CPI. Acts of environmental vandalism should be stricltly punished. Pollutants are an invisible killer which reduces people’s lives as well as working environment. CPI is believed to bring high economic effectiveness as well as contribute to the local environmental preservation.
