With spectacular scenery and modern tourism infrastructures, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa is qualified for MICE tours. MICE stands for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions. Besides high grade resorts, Nha Trang City needs to have more shopping centers and amusement parks to meet increasing tourists’ demand.

Vietnam has been considered to be a safe destination in Asia and Nha Trang- Khanh Hoa has become more and more popular for MICE tourism. Vinpearl Land, Yasaka-Saigon-Nhatrang, Sunrise, etc have been chosen to host domestic and international MICE events. Particularly, Vinpearl Land had an honor to host Tourism – Finance Ministerial and Deputy Ministerial Meeting in the framework of the APEC Summit in October 2006, 14th ASEAN and ASEAN + 3 Financial Ministerial Meeting and the 6th ASEAN State Bank Governors’ Meeting in April 2010.
Apart from cultural events such as beach festivals and beauty pageants, Nha Trang is an ideal location to host conferences. Doan Thi Thanh Tra, Director of the marketing division, Saigontourist Company, said, “Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa enjoys great potentials for MICE tourism, especially when Cam Ranh Airport becomes an international airport.”
Nha Trang has received more and more MICE tourists. Saigontourist organized MICE tours to Nha Trang City in March 2010 for 400 staff of Tan Hiep Phat Company, 100 staff of Pinaco Company and 1,000 staff of Soc Trang Seafood Joint Stock Company. In addition, MICE tours are regularly held to Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa by Viettravel, which says, “Tourists are very pleased with the scenery, climate and customer service at hotels and restaurants in Nha Trang. However, the tourist spending is limited due to the lack of high grade shopping centers.
MICE tourism in fundamentally different from general business tourism as it has everything to do with tourism industry infrastructure and marketing. It requires skilled labor force, high quality shopping and amusement centers. Many big tourism and entertainment projects have been carried out in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa., so MICE tourism is expected to boom in Nha Trang in the time to come.
