Overcoming bad influences of global economic downturn, industrial production value of Khanh Hoa Province reached VND15,675, increasing by 10% over 2009. Some strong industries of the province are ship building, cigarette production, beverage production, sand exploitation, seafood process, industrial sewing and building materials.
Of the sum, the industrial production value of local State-own businesses was VND3,859 billion, a 14% rise over 2009; FDI sector’s was VND4,198 billion, 20% up; and private sector’s was VND7,265 billion, 7% up.

Businesses with considerable increase were Khanh Hoa Salangane Nest Company (80%), Khanh Hoa Mining and Investment Joint Stock Company (53%), Khanh Hoa Mineral Water Joint Stock Company (17%), Khanh Viet Corporation (7%), Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard Limited Company (25%), SanMiguel Beer Company (16%), Sakura Food Limited Company (136%).
Some main products were Sanest drink (4,041 liters, 109% up), mineral water (45 million liters, 20% up), beer (18.7 million, 17% up), cigarettes (800 million packs), sand (1,040 tons. 38% up).
In 2010, international organizations kept seeking investment opportunities in Khanh Hoa . Van Phong Economic Zone alone granted investment certificate to 17 new projects with a total investment of USD67.25 million and licensed 13 other projects added USD165.55 million to their capital. At present, many big projects in Van Phong are in progress, namely Van Phong International Transit Port, Van Phong Petroleum Warehouse, Nix Disposal Plant, Hon Ngang – Bai Cat Tham Marine Ecological Tourist Site. May other projects have been finished and put into operation such as Ninh Thuy Cement Distribution Terminal and Cashew Nut Processing Factory of Sao Viet Limited Company.
In 2011, ship building is forecast to recover. Specifically, Hyundai Vinashin Shipyard Limited Company will build up 16 new ships and export 11 ones and Cam Ranh Ship Building Factory has a contract worth about VND410 billion. In addition, some big projects will be put into operation such as Cam Ranh Cement Factory, Van Phong Petroleum Warehouse and Song Giang Hydroelectric Plant.
The province’s industry targets a 13.55 growth rate over 2010.
