GTO Media Corporation has made a detailed plan for the sand sculpture exhibition. Ho Thi Hoang Oanh, Director of GTO Media said, “We hope impressive sand images will create a special atmosphere for the sea festival, helping to promote tourism potentials and protect cultural heritages. This is also a platform for local businesses to advertise their brands.”
GTO Media has contacted with artists from the Ho Chi Minh City Fine Art Association to work out the program for the Sea festival 2011. A trial was carried out on April 28-29 on Nha Trang Beach to make sure the success of the coming festival. The portraits of Dr. A.Yersin and dancer Apsara were created on sand. Tourists and residents were amazed and fascinated to see the works of art out of sand.
A tourist from Ho Chi Minh City said, “This is the first time I have seen sand sculptures. It is so interesting and amazing. I’m looking forward to see Nha Trang Beach with such spectacular art work in the coming sea festival. We will return to Nha Trang on the occasion of Sea Festival 2011.”
The participating artists are all sand sculpture lovers who have left their sand work of art in Vung Tau City. Artist Nguyen Duy Nhat said, “The most important thing in sand sculpture is understanding the language of sand. The sand in each coastal region has its own characteristics which are challenging but inspiring for us.”
As planned, the sand sculpture exhibition opens on 12 and finishes on 14 of December with some 30 enterprises participating in the event. GTO Media plans to hold a meeting to introduce basic techniques of sand sculpture in Nha Trang City. The size of the sand artwork is 3m in height and 5m in width. One larger structure will be used as the highlight.
On the occasion, GTO Media in cooperation with Khanh Hoa Red Cross plans to hold some charity activities, including gifts to families of those who have died at sea.
GTO Media is making great effort to make the exhibition to become a deep expression on tourists and residents in Nha Trang City. The closing night is expected to be an unforgettable emotional experience.
