Retail sale market in Khanh Hoa Province has recently become busy with the appearance of many new supermarkets. This distribution channel will develop more in the province in the coming time.

. Supermarkets and commercial centers blooming

From 2010 up to now, Khanh Hoa Province has seen the appearance of many new supermarkets and commercial centers, including Maximark Nha Trang January (January 2010), Co.opMart Cam Ranh (November 2010), Maximark Cam Ranh (April 2011) and Nha Trang Center (May 2011).

Additionally, Metro Cash & Carry, one of the biggest wholesale retailers in the world, will open Metro Cash & Carry Nha Trang wholesale center. “Metro’s success in emerging economies like Vietnam has proved the uniqueness of Metro’s B2B self-service wholesale model whose core customer groups are hotels, restaurants, caterers, traders and other business professionals. Nha Trang City as well as Khanh Hoa Province is our key market in the Southern Central,” said Randy Guttery, managing director of Metro Cash & Carry Vietnam.

The blooming of supermarkets as a modern distribution channel has changed shopping habit of many people, especially when traditional markets show weaknesses such as unstable price and bad goods quality. Having more advantages in space, service and quality of goods, the supermarkets and commercial centers have become favorite shopping destinations for many residents as well as tourists.

Thanks to civilized service and reliable goods quality, supermarkets and commercial centers in Nha Trang attracts a large number of customers.

Khanh Hoa Province’s authority always advocates and facilitates businesses to invest in infrastructures for supermarkets, setting up the modern distribution system for the province. It not only improves retail market of the province in the direction of modernization but forwards production and trade in accordance with the globalization and international integration process.

According to the province’s planning to develop markets, commercial centers and supermarkets till 2020, there will be 20 supermarkets, not only in Nha Trang and Cam Ranh but also in other districts Ninh Hoa, Van Ninh, Dien Khanh and Khanh Vinh. Then goods sale though supermarkets and commercial centers is estimated to make up 40% of the total retail sale.

Additionally, other sale modes such as chain, online, contract and auction has formed and expanded.
