Shoppers have a wide choice of good quality Vietnam-made commodities on market-days of "Bringing Vietnam-made goods to rural areas" program. |
Reportedly, half of the participating stalls belonged to enterprises in Khanh Hoa Province. The event was seen as a kind of effective push to encourage loyalty to domestic products.
According to Cao Dinh Phan, Vice Manager of Program “Bringing Vietnam-made goods to rural areas 2011” is held in
the districts of Dien Khanh and Van Ninh in response to the “Vietnamese people use Vietnamese products” campaign launched by the Politburo.
Due to limited funding, only 14 enterprises joined the program this year (40 enterprises in 2010) with the participation of 9 local ones (4 enterprises in 2010). Apart from popular trademarks, including Chin Tuy fish sauce, Kim Hang aluminum & stainless steel, Vi Dan washing-powder, etc, the other manufacturers with their first sales trip to Khanh Hoa rural areas included Khanh Hoa Mineral Joint Stock Company, Khanh Hoa Salangane’s Nest Company, Co.opMart Cam Ranh, Citimart Nha Trang and so on.
Besides the sales, some participating enterprises offered 20 gifts to local poor people in each district. Moreover, Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company, Da Nang Branch, also gave free medical checkups to children.
The event provided chances for producers, traders and local consumers to meet and exchange their interest and information, thus helping stimulate domestic demand and encouraging rural people to use products made in Vietnam.
Thanks to the Program “Bringing Vietnam-made goods to rural areas 2011”, enterprises and retailers had an opportunity to exchange marketing experience to expand their markets to rural communities.
