Despite the economic downturn, Cam Ranh International Airport’s passenger volume so far this year has risen sharply.
Cam Ranh International Airport has developed well during the past years. Its average growth rate of passenger volume is 21%/year, ranking the fourth in the country.

So far this year, the global economic downturn has caused some influences on aviation. However, the number of passenger departures and arrivals of the airport has showed a sharp increase.
Specifically, the airport’s passenger volume has reached 358,801, soaring by 25% year-on-year. Its current frequence is 10 flights a day. On the peak time, for example the summer, the figure may rise to 20 flights a day.
Despite the increase in the number of flights, the airport always ensures best services to passengers. Additionally, security and order at the airport have been kept safely.
Recently, Middle Airports Corporation has organized a large-scale rescue maneuver at Cam Ranh International Airport.
Cam Ranh International Airport is confirming a commanding position in aviation of the province and the region. Beside supplying good services for passengers, the airport has asked the provincial People’s Committee to be upgraded to receive larger planes and more flights.
“The provincial People’s Committee has submitted the Government to open Nha Trang – Hue airline, which will facilitate passengers and the development between the two tourist provinces Khanh Hoa and Thua Thien Hue”, revealed Luong Van Thanh, director of the airport.
