Nha Trang is an all-round tourist destination. The number of foreign holiday-makers coming to Nha Trang has increased significantly. It is chosen to be an ideal winter vacation destination.
In 2011, Khanh Hoa tourism targets 450,000 international tourist visits, up by 70,000 compared with 2010. Khanh Hoa has received 301,255 foreign holiday-makers, a year-on-year rise of 10.4%.
According to Nguyen Van Thanh, Director of the Khanh Hoa Center for Tourism Promotion Information, the number of international visitors is expected to increase considerably in winter this year.
Vietnam, especially the central coastal region, has become the favorite destination of many travelers. This winter, Khanh Hoa tourism is expected to receive a great number of Russian tourists.
Vladivostok Air plans to operate 14 direct flights, each carrying expected 140 passengers from Khabarovsk and Vladivostok to Cam Ranh Airport. According to Le Van Nghia, Director of Nhat Minh International Tourism Company, Ltd. (Hanoi), most Russian tourists used to come from Moscow.
The new air route from Khabarovsk and Vladivostok will create wonderful chances to receive more travelers from Russia to Vietnam. Figures have shown that Russian will be a main tourism market in the time to come.
Most Russian tourists prefer Southeast Asian country’s coastal cities like Nha Trang and Phan Thiet in the central region. Therefore, more tour guides who can speak Russian are required.
Close cooperation among tourism firms and tourism promotion agencies, and more tourism marketing are needed to showcase the destination to encourage passengers to choose it as a base for their holidays during cold months.
