Tear-off calendars are produced by Tri Duc Thai Thinh Culture Co., Ltd., Phuong Dong Publisher, Women’s Publisher and so on. Tear-off calendars are on the best-seller list while desk calendars are selling slowly.
The price of tear-off calendars is up between 10% and 20% ranging from VND15,000 to some hundred thousand dongs.
Economic recession has affected the market for calendars. Few producers have invested in new designs to deal with increasing cost in printing and publishing.
A shopper named Thanh Thao (Hoang Dieu Street, Nha Trang City) said, “I am going window-shopping. I am wondering if my company will offer its staff wall calendars as usual. I will wait till the end of the year.”
The sales are remaining at a low level. However, it is expected to increase at the end of the year.
