Cam Ranh City plays an important role in socio-economic growth in Khanh Hoa Province. Besides vast potentials for the marine industry, Cam Ranh City boasts its favorable conditions for tourism development.

Reidle, a specialist of the World Tourism Organization WTO says that he has been to many beautiful bays in the world and Cam Ranh Bay is very impressive for its spectacular and pristine un-spoilt beaches such as Nom, Chuong, Bo De, Hon Co, Ngoc Suong, Mui Hoi and many more.
Visitors will be swept away by the unique charm of white sand beaches. Local customs and traditions are also valuable resources for tourism. Cam Ranh City has over 60 cultural and historical heritages such as Tu Van Pagoda and Hoa Diem Archaeological Site.
Under the general planning of Khanh Hoa Tourism till 2020, Cam Ranh City and its neighborhood are defined to be a major tourism zone in southern Khanh Hoa. Sea ecotourism linked with cultural tourism will be the mainstay.
The project includes sea ecotourism sites namely Cam Nghia (200ha), Cam Thinh Dong (200ha), Cam Linh (200ha), Cam Lap (1,500ha) and so on.
However, Cam Ranh has to compete with well-known Nha Trang destination and a tourism spot in northern Cam Ranh Peninsula.
Moving forward
A beautiful musical film "Radiant kisses" has been staged at Ngoc Suong Resort, a famous tourist destination in Cam Ranh. Many tourism projects are underway.
The construction of VND 250 billion Ngoc Suong Yen Hideway in Cam Lap Commune began in June 2011 covering 16ha. 5-star Alila YeBay Resort is expected to be built with a capital of VND400 billion by the end of the year.
Phan Thanh Truc, Chief of Tourism Resource Planning Office (Department of Culture, Sports & Tourism) said, “Investment in tourism is essential and profitable in Cam Ranh. Besides favorable natural and cultural conditions, the city is convenient for marine traffic development as it can be connected to international sea tourism routes."
Moreover, Cam Ranh International Airport is considered as a link bringing both domestic and foreign travelers to Khanh Hoa and the neighboring areas.
However, to take advantage of potentials, more tourism promotion is required to call for investment in Cam Ranh together with closer cooperation in tourism with neighboring provinces such as Ninh Thuan and Lam Dong.
