A variety of festivals and events are annually held in Khanh Hoa Province, which is known as the Land of Aloe Wood. Local authorities' event management has played an important role in helping festivals to succeed.
100 festivals and events a year
Khanh Hoa is an ethnically diverse and multicultural province. According to the Department of Culture, Sport & Tourism, up to 100 festivals are staged every year. Traditional and historical events include Village Festival, Fish Worshipping Festival, Ponagar Temple Festival, Death Anniversary of the Hung Kings, Tran Hung Dao, etc.
Since 2003, the Sea Festival has been held in Nha Trang City, adding to the local cultural attraction. Besides, there are traditional festivals of Southern Chinese communities, including Mother Ancestor Festival or festivals of ethnic minority peoples such as ben nuoc, bo ma, etc featuring cultural differences.
Successful organizational tasks
The celebration of festivals in Khanh Hoa in recent years have been socialized. Festivals have been joined by pilgrims, local residents and tourists. Festivals have benefited greatly from effective event management of Khanh Hoa Province.
Thanks to the close cooperation between the local authority and organizing agencies, security has been maintained during festivals. The management board has assured a safe movement of large flows of people into, around, and out of your event, helping to manage the risks of a festival’s exciting and potentially dangerous acts and stage shows, and raising public awareness of keeping environmental hygiene.
Truong Dang Tuyen, Director of the Department of Culture, Sport & Tourism says the successful management together with detailed regulations on celebrations of festivals have kept festivals go smoothly, helping to promote the tourism image of Khanh Hoa.
