Developing GCF under the support of Danish International Development Agency, Nha Trang 584 Fishery Joint Stock Company is expected to expand export and bring Nha Trang fish sauce to more overseas markets.
Over 35 years since 1977, Nha Trang 584 Fishery Joint Stock Company has confirmed its trademark on the market with about 10% in annual growth of market share. Especially since 2006 when being equitized, the company’s growths of capital, turnover, profit have risen by over 15% per year and its products have been exported abroad.
Majoring in producing fish sauce, the company attaches importance to promoting manufacture basing on traditional process in cooperation with modern technologies to create high-quality products.
Recently, under the support of Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA), the company has developed the GCF, a global competition program for Vietnamese businesses in order to expand export market of 584 Fish Sauce.
“VND6 billion will be poured into the GCF project in 584 Fishery JSC, including VND3.2 billion funded by DANIDA and VND2.8 billion by the company. From 2011 to 2013, the company carries out steps of the project such as hiring technical consultants, upgrading the analyse center, supplying test service for small fish sauce producers, transferring export technology and implementing standard sets of product management and measurement. Additionally, the company will upgrade production equipment, supplying techniques for small producers and expanding production”, said Do Huu Viet, director of the company.
At present, the company is looking for a 25,000 sq.m. area to build up a fish sauce factory with an expenditure of VND50 billion to go with its development and export markets.
584 Fish Sauce now presents in 50 provinces and cities nationwide and accesses some countries, including Poland, Philippines, Hong Kong, Korea, Japan and Laos.
The company’s turnover achieved a running rise. For instance, the turnover of 2010 was VND37.4 billion and the figure increased to VND60 billion, 24% up. In the two first months of 2012, the company got VND17 billion in turnover, producing and selling 200,000 liters of fish sauce with 500,000 bottled fish sauce products. Export made up 5% of the total turnover.
“If the company develops GCF project successfully, our export surely will rise very sharply”, added Viet.
Not only improving 584 Fishery JSC GCF but also is expected to popularize Nha Trang fish sauce abroad.
