Summer has come, bringing hot weather. As usual, cooling products sell well in this season. In Khanh Hoa Province, people have a big demand in popular, multifunctioned and electricity-saving products.
Consumption of cooling products these days have risen sharply.
“Sale rises by 30% over last month”, Dinh Van Cuong, a retail shop owner revealed.
At Co.opMart Cam Ranh, purchase of cooling products sees an increase of 60 – 200% year-on-year. The best sellers are electric fans and fruit juicers. Most of these products are locally made.

According to refrigeration appliance traders, cooling products this year have no changes in function but are designed more elegantly.
At present, price and economical function are the first choices of consumers. To air-conditioners, a suitable capacity can save electricity effectively. A 9,000 BTU/hour air-conditioner is used for a under 15sq.m. room, 12,000 BTU/h for 15 – 20 sq.m. and 24,000 BTU/h for 20 – 30 sq.m.. Air-conditioners worth VND5 – 7 million now are selling better than more expensive ones.
Beside big trademarks such as LG, Panasonic, Toshiba, Mitsubishi and Media, the market has locally-made products like Laska, Vietronic,…15 – 20% cheaper than imported ones.
Fridges sell well these days. 150-200 liter products with functions such as no frost, electricity economization and prices of VND3-5million are favorite choices of consumers.
Steam fans have abundant with many trademarks like Sanaky, Tifan, Asia, ect. Each product costs VND750,000 – VND2 million.
Additionally, charge fans are for hot season in case of no electricity. Most of them are of Chinese trademarks such as Sunca, Blacker and Kennede, costing VND600,000 – 980,000. Products imported from Thailand and Japan are sold VND1-2 million. Most of charge fans have lights and even radio.
Demand for fruit juice also rises sharply in dry season. Accordingly, juicers are purchased much. Popular ones cost VND520,000 – VND800,000 while multifunctional ones are priced VND1.2 – VND2.5 million.
Some shops and supermarkets are offering promotional programs for cooling products. For example, at Metro Cash & Carry Nha Trang, Fairline fridge is discounted by 2.1% to VND2.6 million and Aro water purifier went down by 36% to 186,000. Chanh Bon Electronic Store also gives 5 – 20% on some products, including 175 liter Panasonic fridge (VND4.19 million) and Tatung juicer (VND390,000).
