Stable prices and promotional programs at supermarkets are owing to their its direct contracts with manufacturers and their big purchase. Additionally, supermarkets don’t change prices every day like traditional markets. They have to keep prices stable in a time.

According to Marketing Department of Co.opMart Cam Ranh, the supermarkets has signed contracts with strategic suppliers to ensure stable prices. The supermarket also has cut cost and encouraged suppliers lower their profit to share difficulties with consumers.

Most promotions at supermarkets focus on essential goods such as food, foodstuffs, garment, chemical cosmetic and household commodities. Along with 4 big periodical promotions each year, Co.opMart Cam Ranh has special offers every two weeks on holidays and in summer. Preferential prices are also given to member and VIP customers regularly At present, the supermarket is discounting 49% on more than 100 fashion products and 48% on 200 household articles.

Citimart Nha Trang also has many promotional programs such as discounts on eggs, milk, rice, sugar, meat, processed foodstuffs, vegetable and seafood, accompanied gifts to shampoo, detergents, cooking oils, instant noodles and so on. Member and VIP customers also receive incentives on the eighth day of each month and holidays.

For example, pork is selling VND80,000 – VND100,000/kg, beef: VND170,000 – VND240,000/kg, mackerel: VND160,000 – VND190,000/kg, pumpkin, carrot: VND12,000/kg and orange: VND25,000 – VND30,000/kg. On the occasion of the new school-year, the supermarkets are giving 15 – 32% discount on paper, pencil, clay, notebook, document bag, desk and laptop.

Moreover, to stimulate consumption, supermarkets has added more new products and increased more services. Brochures have been issued. Services such as ordering by phone, home delivery, free delivery, free packing and payment by card have been developed.

Accordingly, sales of supermarkets are still stable. On special days, sales rise by 20 – 40% than normal.
