In recent years, green tourism has developed initially in Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa.

Green tourism, basing on nature and culture, aims to preserve nature, protect biodiversity and community culture.

In the situation of the current climate change and environment pollution, tourism of Vietnam as well as Khanh Hoa Province is going in this direction.

Accordingly, role of sea tourism has been confirmed in the national tourism developing strategy till 2030.

In Khanh Hoa Province, green tourism appeared for the first time 10 years ago with the establishment of Hon Mun Marine Protected Area and Ran Trao Marine Protected Area. Then, diving service to contemplate coral and sea creatures has developed strongly and attracted a lot of tourists, especially foreigners.

Green tourism is also applied in hotels and travel firms through many activities such as environment protection, wastewater treatment, garbage disposal, noise decrease, nylon bag limitation and green tree planting.

Many tourist areas in Nha Trang have been built according to this tendency, namely Hon Tam, Six Senses Hideaway Ninh Van and I-Resort. Their construction use many natural materials such as bamboos and thatch. They are also designed to be able to natural winds and lights.

The national tourism developing strategy till 2030 attaches special importance to tourist products of sea, islands, ecology and culture. As a result, green tourism which respects nature and local culture, will be focused.
