VND saving chosen as good investment

VND saving is good and safe investment in Vietnam now.

VND saving is good and safe investment in Vietnam now.

Conserving capital

According to State Bank’s Khanh Hoa Branch, VND deposits during the past time has rise regularly. Till end August, the total capital mobilization reached VND28,304 billion, increasing by VND756 billion over the beginning of the month and by VND5,300 billion over the beginning of the year.

Of the sum, deposit from individuals was VND20,897 billion, rising by VND3,247 billion.

In the situation of fluctuation of gold price, unstable stock and frozen housing market, VND saving is still a good choice.

At present, deposit interest rate is about 2% per annum for under-2-month terms, 9% per annum for 1 – 12 month terms and 9 – 12% per annum for above-12-month terms.

”Saving isn’t really an investment channel, but in the current situation, it may be a profitable capital conservation”, said Doan Vinh Tuong, director of State Bank’s Khanh Hoa Branch.

Attractive with promotions

VND saving now gets more attractive as many banks have a lot of promotional programs with valuable gifts.

For example, ACB has launched a big promotion with prizes worth VND9 billion in total. Accordingly, from now to December 7, only with a deposit of VND10 million, depositors will be given a code to spin a wheel for a prize. The biggest prize is a BMW car worth VND1.3 billion.

Sacombank also has a promotional program of VND5.7 billion. With only VND4 million, depositors can join it.

At VietinBank, there are 500,000 prizes worth more than VND16 billion for depositors.

SHB gives a chance to draw a lucky lot for depositors with VND20 million and over in saving.

At SCB, with only VND5 million, depositors can have a chance to win the biggest prize which is a kilogram of SJC gold and many other valuable prizes such as Airblade FI Magnet scooters and Samsung Galaxy S3 phone.

Vietnam’s inflation has been curbed. Therefore, even when the banking interest rate is lowered, saving by VND is still chosen by many people.
