The Ministry of Transport, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee, Phu Yen Provincial People’s Committee and the investor Deo Ca Investment Joint Stock Company jointly organized construction start-up ceremony of Deo Ca Tunnel project in Phu Yen Province on November 18.

The ceremony was attended by Huynh Ngoc Son – Member of the Central Party Committee and Vice-chairman of the National Assembly, Dinh La Thang – Member of the Central Party Committee and Minister of Transport, Le Thanh Quang - Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Council, Nguyen Chien Thang – Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of ministries and local departments.
Deo Ca (Ca Mountain Pass) Tunnel project, linking two provinces of Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen, will be invested VND15,603 billion in the forms of BT and BOT, including VND10,555 billion for building Deo Ca tunnel in the form of BOT, VND4,509 billion for building Co Ma tunnel, paths and bridges in the form of BT and VND539 billion for ground clearance and resettlement.
A work start-up rite |
The project starts at Km 1353+500 of National Way 1A, Hoa Xuan Commune, Dong Hoa District, Phu Yen Province and ends at Km 1374+525 in Van Tho Commune, Van Ninh District, Khanh Hoa Province. Its total length is 13.4km, including 3.9km of Deo Ca tunnel, 500m of Co Ma tunnel and the remainder for the paths and bridges.
The project aims to reduce traffic accidents, upgrade the National Highway 1A and partly develop economic, industrial and tourist centers of the Central region, link Phu Yen Province with Van Phong Economic Zone and Nha Trang City and intensify national defence in the Central and the Highlands.
It’s expected to be finished in 2016.
