. Sharp rise in number of foreign tourists
The number of foreign tourists coming to Nha Trang during the past ten months has reached 420,000 (increasing sharply by 23.68%), 53,700 of whom are Russian. The province is expected to welcome 500,000 foreign tourists in the whole year.
According to Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Truong Dang Tuyen, the 2 millionth visitor will be given a warm welcome at Cam Ranh International Airport, marking the development of Khanh Hoa’s tourism and proving Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa as an attractive, safe and friendly destination to tourists. Some products and services will be given to this special visitor as a souvenir gift.
“The number of foreign tourists, especially Russian tourists, coming to Nha Trang sees a deep growth. This is a good sign for tourism of the province”, said Tuyen.
From October 25, three flights with 500 – 600 passengers from Russia to Cam Ranh International Airport promises to raise the number of foreign tourists to Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa more sharply. In six coming months, only such flights will bring about 100,000 tourists to the province.

With the boom of Russian tourists in Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa, tourist spots and hotels have invested more to satisfy this market.
In Thap Ba Hot Spring, the staff are actively learning Russian. Its space also has been renewed.
Sunrise Nha Trang Hotel plans programs for Russian tourists such as Christmas, cultural activities, Russian food and local food menu in Russian.
Sheraton Hotel even has Russian employees, menus, tours and tourist information in Russian. “This year, the number of Russian guests in Sheraton Hotel has risen three folds. Most of them are in middle class and stay for many days”, said Le Khanh Ngoc, marketing agent of the hotel.
According to Hoang Thu Phong, president of Anh Duong Company, operator of the Russian tours, Russian tourists satisfy with tourist spots, food, services, products and especially friendly people in Vietnam.
Natalia Ivanova, director of a travel firm in Ukraine, also appreciated potentials of tourism in Nha Trang. Some luxury hotels in Nha Trang satisfied high-income guests of her company.
Russian tourists Shageev Nasibulla and Ramziia who have stayed in Nha Trang for half a month said, “ We like warm weather, clean beaches and hospitable people in Nha Trang. Tourism in Nha Trang also is praised on Russian media.”
