Overcoming difficulties, export turnover of Khanh Hoa Province in 2012 has exceeded USD1 billion. This is the first year the province has reached the figure.
In general situation of the world’s economy during 2012, local enterprises have faced a lot of challenges such as cost rise, high banking interest rates and purchase drop. However, owning to suitable policies of the authorities and the enterprises’ efforts, export norms of the year have been fulfilled two months in advance.
Till end November, 2012, export turnover of Khanh Hoa Province hit over USD1 billion, increasing by 21.8% over 2011. This is the first year the province has reached the figure. Exports with big turnover are processed fishery and ships.

Up to now, the province has nearly 50 fishery exporters. The province’s seafood has been exported to 56 countries and territories. During many past years, Khanh Hoa has been among four localities with the biggest fishery export in the country. Seafood export turnover of the province always sees a stable growth. In 2011, the figure was USD325 million, making up 54% of the total export and it is expected to reach USD386 million, rising by 10.4% over 2011. Some enterprises with high growth are Thinh Hung Limited Company ( 2 times up), Hai Vuong Limited Company (30% up), Phillip Fishery Vietnam Limited Company (35% up), Khanh Hoa Fishery Export Limited Company (25% up) and Tin Thanh Limited Company (20% up).
Beside seafood, ship building industry has contributed much in raising export turnover in the province. Hyundai Vinashin Ship Building Yard Limited Company has exported 15 ships worth USD470 million, making up 42% of the province’s export turnover.
Additionally, Intimex Nha Trang has exported more than 38,000 tons of coffee worth USD79 million to 30 countries and territories. Some other products also with good growth are shaved wood, handicrafts, cigarettes and beverage.
To keep the stable growth, the province will continue supporting exporters. Furthermore, the exporters need more investment in updating technologies, raising product quality and stepping up trade promotion to approach potential markets.
