The number of international visitors to Vietnam in the first half of 2013 reached 3,540,403, increasing 2.6% year-on-year. The figure of domestic tourists was 24 million, 12% up. The total turnover from tourism hit VND105,000 billion, 23.5% up.
In June alone, there were 567,291international visitors to the country, rising by 1.5% over May and 29.9% year-on-year.
Some markets with more than 100,000 outbound visitors were Russia, Thailand, Indonesia, China, New Zealand, Malaysia, Australia, Korea, Japan and England.
To reach above results, tourism stimulating programs and service promotion have been made effectively in many places in the country such as Ho Chi Minh City, Khanh Hoa, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh, Hai Phong and Hanoi.

In additional, hotel system has developed strongly and professionally. Up to now, the whole country has 13,700 hotels in total with 290,000 rooms, including 60 five-star ones, 153 four-star ones and 362 three-star ones.
To improve tourism more, the National Admisnistration of Tourism made assessment to grant 70 new licenses, change 12 ones and revoke 10 ones. The administration also issued 13,613 tourist guide card to manage and professionalize this job.
