According to the State Bank, cash payment has seen a sharp decrease over years. Its rate in total payment has fallen from 20.3% in 2004 to 14% in 2010 and to about 12% now.
Till 2013, there have been 65% of State units paying salary for employees through bank accounts and 66% State officials receiving salary through bank accounts.

To serve that, the ATM and POS network have been expanded in the whole country. There are 14,400 ATMs and 116,700 POS/EDC devices along with about 62 million cards for them.
