Supermarkets in Khanh Hoa Province have prepared a large amount of goods for the coming Lunar New Year festival (Tet holiday). This market is dominated by Vietnamese products.
Abundant goods
Most of businesses in the province forecast that the purchase for the coming Lunar New Year holiday will not increase too sharply as the economy is still in difficulties. However, they have prepared an amount of goods which is 20% - 30% higher than last season to prevent lack of goods and increase in prices.
Vo Dinh Dung, director of Co.opmart Nha Trang, said, “Our supermarket has made preparations for Tet holiday since end October. Our goods in store now is worth up to VND40 billion, twice or three times as much as normal. Most of them are articles for daily necessities like cooking oil, sugar, eggs, processed food, meat, etc.
The supermarket also will launch many promotions for the New Year season and hold three mobile sales times with prices discounted 3% - 5% to remote areas.
Similarly, Co.opmart Cam Ranh has prepared a store of goods worth VND25 – 30 billion, a 20% increase over last season. The supermarket also will launch mobile sales to islands of Binh Ba and Binh Hưng as well as communes of Cam Ranh City.
Maximark and Citimart Nha Trang also are promptly preparing for the New Year season. Nguyen Vu Ngoc Thien, director of Citimart Nha Trang, said, “The supermarket has stored an amount of goods for this New Year season 20% - 30% as much as last season. There will be discounts from 5% to 49% for this occasion.”
Metro Cash & Carry Nha Trang has made a careful preparation. The supermarket has signed contracts with suppliers to ensure goods for New Year holiday to keep prices stable.
Vietnamese products to dominate Tet market
According to businesses, domestic products will dominate the market for this Lunar New Year festival. Good quality, beautiful design and reasonable price are grounds making consumers choose domestic products.
Nguyen Quoc Cuong, marketing director of Coopmart Nha Trang, confirmed, “We give top priority to Vietnamese products this New Year season.”
At Metro Cash & Carry Nha Trang, 95% of products are Vietnamese while the rate in Citimart is about 70%.
