Price stabilizing program for Lunar New Year Festival (Tet) will be developed in Khanh Hoa Province, aiming to partly keep the market stable during the time.

According to Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Industry and Trade Cao Dinh Phan, due to the difficult economy, purchase and prices are forecast not to rise too sharply. However, some necessities, especially food and foodstuff surely will increase according to their demands on this occasion. As a result, the price stabilizing program is necessary to keep the market stable as well as partly ensure quality and food safety for some commodities.

Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has allowed 6 businesses to advance about VND33 billion on the State budget without being charged interest in 3 months as from December 1 to produce and trade some commodities, including rice, cooking oil, meat, poultry, seafood, processed foodstuff and so on. This is the fifth year this program has developed in the province.

The businesses involved in the program have prepared a big amount of goods to supply for the Tet market. For instance, Khanh Hoa Branch of The Southern Central Food Joint Stock Company has stored 167 tons of rice worth more than VND2 billion, VND800 million of which is lent by the price stabilizing fund. At present, the company is selling rice with prices 5% - 10% lower than market at 36 Le Thanh Ton Street and 8 Vo Thi Sau Street, Nha Trang.

Supermarkets are making preparations for Tet. Maximark Nha Trang and Maximark Cam Ranh have borrowed VND20 billion to  store more than 2,000 commodities, including 40 tons of vegetable and fruits, 11 tons of rice and beans, over 76,300 bottles of cooking oil, 60 tons of meat and processed foodstuff. Maximark also will launch mobile sales in remote areas, including Khanh Vinh, Van Ninh and Ninh Hoa.

Besides, with VND5 billion of the loan from the State budget, Coopmart Cam Ranh stores over 10 tons of rice, 47,000 bottles of cooking oil, over 20 tons of meat and processed foodstuff; and with VND5 billion, Coopmart Nha Trang stores 7 tons of rice, 32,000 bottles of cooking oil, over 20 tons of meat and processed foodstuff, 20 tons of vegetable and fruits, etc. Coopmart also has mobile sales in Cam Ranh, Nha Trang, Ninh Hoa, Van Ninh and Dien Khanh.

The price stabilizing program this year continues coming to two mountainous districts Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh. Advancing more than VND2 billion, Khanh Vinh Commercial Service Center has prepared 100 tons of rice, 56 boxes of cooking oil, 40 boxes of fish sauce, etc. selling in 8 stores in communes of Khanh Phu, Khanh Thanh, Lien Sang, Khanh Thuong, Khanh Trung, Khanh Binh and Khanh Hiep. Khanh Son Commercial Service Center prepares over 80 tons of rice, 2,500 liters of cooking oil, 6 tons of sugar, over 1,000 boxes of instant noodle and 1,350 boxes of soft drinks, which will be distributed to 7 stores in communes of To Hap, Thanh Son, Son Lam, Son Binh, Son Hiep, Ba Cum Nam and Ba Cum Bac.
