Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Khanh Hoa Province in March has fell by 0.56% over the figure in February. Foodstuff sees a sharp drop of 2.63% due to the decrease in demand for beef, pork, seafood after the Lunar New Year festival. Especially, poultry price has been down deeply due to the bird flu epidemic. Many kinds of vegetable in crop also have decreased sharply in price such as cabbage, tomato, potato and onion.
Food group has risen by 0.93%. The group of clothing, headwear and footwear has increased by 0.79%. The group of housing, electricity, water, fuels and building materials has been down by 1.05%. Other groups have few changes.
CPI of the province is forecast to rise slightly in April, mainly because of the market’s recovery after the bird flu epidemic.
